Our mission

As a member of the Swedish Curators’ Association we will represent and support you in matters concerning practical as well as intellectual work and property. Our principal aim is to promote and protect curators’ professional, financial and social security.

Our mission includes monitoring, upholding, and defending freedom of expression and democratic principles. We are committed to actively eliminating all forms of discrimination.

Mentorship and professional forums

We aim to initiate new professional forums for discussions on contemporary curatorial practices and its history. Our goal is to foster stronger connections between curators of different generations and experiences, as well as with sister organizations abroad. We strive to create opportunities for national and international collaborations through mentorship programmes, encouraging dissemination of knowledge and resources within our member group.

Residency programs and advisory functions

In the absence of residency programs and scholarships for Swedish curators to work, do research abroad (a crucial aspect of the international institutional art world), the association is seeking pragmatic solutions. Two successful initiatives include the HULT residency program in Kronoberg and a curator placement in Barcelona.
