Lorena’s practice unfolds at the intersection of art, environment, and lore, exploring natural phenomena and physiological functions through feminist theory, philosophy of science, literature, ecology, and traditional knowledge. Sound plays a vital role in her work—not only as a medium but as an elemental force that shapes perception, memory, and presence. She is particularly drawn to its physical and psychical effects, its resonance through bodies and landscapes, and its capacity to bridge temporalities and epistemologies. Holding an MA in Critical Studies from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, she has collaborated with institutions and festivals across Mexico, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, and Australia, including Museo Jumex, Museo Tamayo, Tangente St. Pölten, Kunstraum Niederoesterreich, Sonic Acts, and the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Tasmania. She is also a member of laschulas, a multidisciplinary collective committed to research, community collaboration, and environmental awareness through sound and situated knowledge.
This event is organized in collaboration with CurExRes, SWAN – Swedish Artists Residency Network and Bonniers Konsthall.
